Piccola premessa: prima che mi chiediate quale indirizzo ho usato per contattare Benedict, vi dico subito che la missiva è stata consegnata a mano da una mia amica che ha assistito alle riprese di Sherlock circa un mese fa. Non credevo di ricevere una risposta sinceramente e invece oggi il postino ha suonato due volte.. letteralmente! Ed eccola!!!

Grazie a Manu e Silvia, che mi hanno aiutato a decifrare la scrittura indecifrabile di Benedict, ecco cosa pensiamo che dica (ma non ne siamo certe :P ):

“Wow! Thank you. My aunt has lived in Italy for over 35 years it’s been a big part of my life so she’s (o è “it’s?” boh? ) thrilled!

I poche parole la zia di Benedict ha vissuto in Italia per più di 35 anni, quindi è stata una grande parte della sua vita ed è veramente elettrizzante (essere amato qui e avere un sito italiano dedicato a lui presumo) oppure è sua zia ad essere elettrizzata dalla cosa? Non lo sapremo mai…

Nella lettera gli ho parlato del sito, di quanto sia amato qui da noi e gli ho anche spedito due puntate di Sherlock doppiate in italiano perché, se io fossi un’attrice, sarei tremendamente curiosa di sentirmi doppiata in altre lingue. :D

Benedict mi ha anche firmato la foto di Sherlock, scrivendo “Thanks Emanuela, your BC x”

In poche parole, Benedict è a conoscenza del sito e, sinceramente, è la cosa che mi rende più felice. Ho sempre pensato di scrivergli solo per fargli sapere della nostra esistenza e ora che lo sa, posso reputarmi soddisfatta.

Thank you Benedict, for being so lovely with your fans. You’ve made my day… my year… my life!

Hey everybody!

In a couple of months there will be a workshop that may have the potential to be absolutely the most useful workshop I could ever take part in. Sadly, it costs EUR70 and I have no idea how to get such amount in time.

I know I still need to finish at least eight commissions, but I feel like I should really, really take part to this. It could help greatly my future career ;u;

So hey, would any of you be interested in commissioning me something like this stuff (flat coloured busts) for EUR 20*25*30 (it depends on what you ask for)? WARNING: your commission will probably take a while to finish, but hey, look on the bright side: the more you wait, the more I improve in the meantime! 8DDD ….no, eh? Uh. *youtriedstar*

After something like five months of the worst art-block, finally I can drawwwwww \O/

This is Gigi Proietti as Gandalf <3 He is one of the greatest Italian actors and comedians and he also dubbed Gandalf in The Hobbit (we had a different dubber in the LOTR saga, but Proietti did a marvellous job taking his place ;u;), so that’s why I drew him with the hat and the staff <3 Me and Yawed had the great pleasure to finally see him on stage and meet him, so here is our collaboration (she wrote the text and I drew the picture) that we gave him as a gift <3 The text is a “Once Upon A Time”-like tiny comical story (since in one of his sketches he tells a very funny and mixed up story with lots of characters from the most famous fairy tales) personalized to fit a Hobbit theme <3

Finished in time (after months and months of art block)! \o/ #bythenizu

Making Ends Meet is finally out as both ebook and soft cover book! I spent my summer illustrating it, that’s why my gallery has been completely ignored in that period of time XP

Don’t bother to check or even buy this book if you’re not pro-gay couples, gay parenting and if you don’t believe that mistakes can sometimes also bring marvellous gifts. Or even better- DO IT instead, this book will help you to have a new point of view. I’m not particularly fond of children or love stories. Hell, I usually try to avoid them both. Still, I loved this book and I’m so honoured to have been chosen to illustrate it. So hey, I’d give it a try, if I were you… it’s more than lovely <3

…and then a genderfluid-themed drawing happened. It just… came out naturally. Hopefully one day I’ll finish this, it’s already very dear to me.

This is my part for the marvellous Sherlock Sketchbook Project. Oh, it’s such an amazing project ;U;

And this…this had been refreshing. I’m drawing commissions from months and I needed some… uh. Something “mine”. You know, typography, art nouveau-inspired stuff… phew. I feel much better now. I feel relieved, I can start to work again ;u;

My pages smell of coffee (since I had anything to paint with and I needed something yellow/brown), and I’m thrilled: who knows, maybe a girl from another part of Europe puts a particular persistent perfume, and you’ll be able to smell it too, another one maybe will draw on the beach… and her pages will smell of salt! Call me romantic, but god, I find this project the coolest thing ever. 

We also have the permission to use our designs for other purposes, so I was wondering if someone would be interested in having these stuff on tshirts, maybe?

Uhm. I’ll probably turn this into an engraving, it seems “graphic” enough to fit the style of the stuff I usually do :D What do you think? It would be kind of like this:
